Our Team

Our three principal partners, whose expertise includes projects in Puerto Rico, the U.S. and Latin America, have combined their experience to ensure a comprehensive approach to all facets of any given project – from design to completion.

Roberto López Esquerra, PE, ME | LinkedIn

As President of MCP Group LLC, Roberto actively participates in the overall management of the company. Roberto is heavily involved during pre-construction activities with clients and their teams to bring exceptional value to their projects. He provides leadership in evaluating market conditions for material and labor to keep the company competitive from a cost perspective. With more than 20 years of experience in the local construction industry, he has participated in major infrastructure construction programs throughout his career, such as the Capital Improvement Program of the Puerto Rico Aqueducts and Sewer Authority (PRASA) and the construction of the Tren Urbano for the Puerto Rico Department of Transportation (DTOP). His experience includes civil infrastructure projects, highways, water and wastewater facilities, as well as commercial, industrial and housing developments. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in both Puerto Rico and Florida, and an active member of the College of Engineers and Land Surveyors of Puerto Rico (CIAPR), as well as the Associated General Contractor of America (AGC), PR Chapter. After graduating from the University of Puerto Rico (RUM) and completing his Master’s Degree in Construction Management from Northwestern University, he worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) for several years. Roberto then moved to PR, and from 2006 to 2016 held the position of Construction Management Department Director and Partner of the local firm ENTECH, PSC before starting MCP Group, LLC

Rubén Díaz Ramírez | LinkedIn

Chief Operating Officer (COO) at MCP Group LLC, Mr. Diaz has been linked to the construction industry since 1977. Rubén is responsible for the management of operations for MCP Group LLC, as well as actively participating in the overall management of the company. The project managers, superintendents and their assistants work with Rubén to meet our clients’ project goals.

Rubén Díaz started his career in the area of control and instrumentation, and subsequently in the production of furniture and kitchens for the hotel industry. In 1986 he founded Central de Materiales Decorativos in Mexico City, to provide quality materials for the construction industry. Central de Materiales Decorativos soon became one of the region’s main interior contractors. In 1998 he incorporated GPI Construction Corp., with central offices in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and participated in the construction of landmark projects such as El Coliseo Jose Miguel Agrelot, La Sala Sinfónica de PR at the Fine Arts complex in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the Manuel Iguina Coliseum at Arecibo, Puerto Rico, among many others.

Frankie J. López, PE, ME | LinkedIn

As the Director of the Estimating Department and Business Development, Frankie is responsible for securing new client relationships and business partner alliances, as well as maintaining existing ones. Also he is actively involved in the coordination of negotiated projects during pre-construction and in charge of all procurement management. Before joining MCP Group, LLC, Frankie worked for a general construction company, excelling in different positions including General Manager for an operation of over $120 Million in projects. Mr. López is licensed in both Puerto Rico and Florida, and certified by the College of Engineers and Land Surveyors of Puerto Rico (CIAPR). He has been involved in a number of high-profile projects in Puerto Rico, the USVI and Panama since 2000, including retail, historic site restoration buildings, sport stadiums, professional centers, and others. Mr. Lopez graduates a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Magna Cum Laude) at the University of Puerto Rico (Mayaguez Campus), and got a Master’s Degree in construction management from Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico.

Gilberto Martínez, EIT

Eng. Martínez has more than 9 years of progressive experience as a project manager and field inspector for various types of projects. He holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering and Construction Management, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Science in Civil Engineering. He is a member of the College of Engineers and Land Surveyors of Puerto Rico (CIAPR), and the Southeast Bridge Preservation Partnership.

Baltazar Salinas

Baltazar Salinas graduated in 1982 from the National Autonomous University of Mexico with a Degree as a Surveyor, and has been active in the industry ever since. He participated in various related projects in the Mexico Federal District, until he moved to Puerto Rico in 2004. Baltazar has worked as a Surveyor, Supervisor, and Project Manager in diverse construction projects. Mr. Salinas has participated on most of MCP Group’s signature projects, and with a career experience of over 35 years as a foundation, Baltazar is able to deliver professional services of the utmost accuracy and quality.

Horacio Olmedo

Horacio Olmedo has more than fifteen years of hands-on experience in the construction industry and has the proven leadership as Project Manager to bring forth quality for any project. A graduate of the Technological University of Mexico in 1996, Horacio has participated in a vast range of project types, from pharmaceuticals, health facilities, institutional, retail, and residential. The skills gained throughout his career give him the capability to master both administrative and field duties.

Sara Caro, PE

Head of the Engineering Department,
Sara has more than 15 years of experience in the inspection and management of construction projects. She also has extensive experience inspecting public and private projects, and has participated in infrastructure projects, including water and wastewater infrastructure, and residential projects, as well as collaborating with projects related to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Puerto Rico Department of Housing, and the Governor’s Authorized Representative (GAR). Sara holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Civil Engineering, and is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Puerto Rico, and an active member of the College of Engineers and Land Surveyors of Puerto Rico.

Amy Pérez, AIT

Head of the Architectural Department,
Ms. Pérez has more than 9 years of progressive experience in the development and design of architectural projects, including educational, industrial, recreational, commercial, institutional and residential facilities, She holds a Master’s Degree of Architecture and a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Design from the University of Puerto Rico’s School of Architecture. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects, PR Chapter, and the Architecture for Humanity Organization.
