Our Company

MCP Group LLC was formed in 2014 by three seasoned professionals who combined decades of experience and know-how to create a dynamic enterprise positioned to take on a wide array of construction-related needs.

With more than 60 years of combined domestic and international experience in design, engineering, architecture, construction, project management and consulting, MCP Group has incorporated the experience of Entech’s well-known design professionals to uniquely integrate a wide range of skills, creating a comprehensive all-inclusive approach that not only entails all facets of the design, engineering and construction processes (for both interiors and exteriors), but ensures a streamlined approach that is not only seamless and fast paced, but cost effective and on budget as well.

Current Efforts

With the passing of Hurricane María, we have also been involved in a number of reconstruction/recovery projects, with our team of 90+ professionals working at various sites throughout the island – just days after the hurricane hit – assessing damages and helping clients resume operations with minimal downtime.

MCP Group’s personnel have participated directly in the development of high-profile projects such as the Puerto Rico Coliseum José Miguel Agrelot, the Symphonic Hall at the Luis A. Ferré Performing Arts Center, and historical facade restorations on Fortaleza Street in Old San Juan. Our Team

Our three principal partners, whose expertise includes projects in Puerto Rico, the U.S. and Latin America, have combined their experience to ensure a comprehensive approach to all facets of any given project – from design to completion.

Roberto López Esquerra, PE, ME

As the former President of design-engineering firm MCP Group LLC, Mr. López Esquerra has more than 20 years of experience in the design, inspection and construction management of civil infrastructure projects, including highways, water and wastewater facilities, as well as commercial, industrial and housing developments. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer in both Puerto Rico and Florida, and an active member of the College of Engineers and Land Surveyors of Puerto Rico (CIAPR).

Rubén Díaz Ramírez

Former Vice-President and founding partner at MCP Group LLC, Mr. Diaz has been linked to the construction industry since 1957, initiating his career in the area of control and instrumentation, and subsequently in the production of furniture and kitchens for the hotel industry. In 1986 he founded "Central de Materiales Decorativos" in Mexico City, to provide quality materials for the construction industry. "Central de Materiales Decorativos" soon became one of the region’s main interior contractors. In 1998, Mr. Díaz incorporated GPI Construction Corp., with central offices in San Juan, and has been an active and successful contractor in Puerto Rico’s construction industry ever since.

Frankie J. López, PE, ME

As a former partner at Entech-PR, PSC, Mr. López is licensed in both Puerto Rico and Florida, and certified by the College of Engineers and Land Surveyors of Puerto Rico (CIAPR). He has been involved in a number of high-profile projects in Puerto Rico since 1997, including retail sites, historic site restoration projects, stadiums, professional centers, and others.

STAFF

Our company and staff are ultimately responsible for ensuring that our projects are thoughtfully planned, staffed, engineered, and executed in accordance with client requirements and the deliverables we produce. Our successful track record is largely a result of our commitment to fostering long-term relationships and building hands-on project teams to support each client's unique business needs. Our experience has proven that this practice improves interaction and communication, and maintains a continuity of processes, systems and standards.

Edgardo Berrios, PE

With more than 10 years of experience in the inspection of comprehensive remodeling and new building construction for both public and private sector projects, Eng. Berrios has extensive knowledge in the supervision of daily construction activities in the field, and in performing any project management tasks. Eng. Berrios holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico, and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Puerto Rico. He’s a member of the College of Engineers and Land Surveyors of Puerto Rico (CIAPR), the American Society of Civil Engineers, and the General Contractors Association of America.

Gilberto Martínez, EIT

Eng. Martínez has more than 9 years of progressive experience as a project manager and field inspector for various types of projects. He holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering and Construction Management, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Science in Civil Engineering. He is a member of the College of Engineers and Land Surveyors of Puerto Rico (CIAPR), and the Southeast Bridge Preservation Partnership.

Horacio Olmedo

Sara Caro, PE

Eng. Caro has more than 15 years of experience in the inspection and management of construction projects. She also has extensive experience inspecting public and private projects, and has participated in infrastructure projects, including water and wastewater infrastructure and, and residential projects, as well as collaborating with projects related to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Puerto Rico Department of Housing, and the Governor’s Authorized Representative (GAR). Eng. Caro holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Civil Engineering, and is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Puerto Rico, and an active member of the College of Engineers and Land Surveyors of Puerto Rico.

Amy Pérez, AIT

With more than 9 years of progressive experience in the development and design of architectural projects, including educational, industrial, recreational, commercial, institutional and residential facilities, Ms. Pérez holds a Master’s Degree of Architecture and a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Design from the University of Puerto Rico’s , School of Architecture. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects, PR Chapter, and the Architecture for Humanity Organization.
